Advice on special schools
We’ve got a wonderful adopted son, currently in year 8. Post-LAC child, no emotional issues, visual impairment, but not significant enough for visually impaired school, epilepsy, but well managed by tablets. EHCP and EP report are very clear he has dyslexia and general processing issues, which accounts for his problems at school.
Teachers and friends all say he’s a lovely, friendly child, who fits well in his current class. We’ve approached a number of dyslexia schools, but so far we haven’t managed to get any to do a face-to-face assessment. All have said he “doesn’t fit their profile”.
Any thoughts or advice?
